Bank supports Cornwall based solar developer

Cornwall based solar developer Solar Securities Ltd has successfully re-financed the operational Ashwater Solar Park with support from Clydesdale Bank.

The 5MW Project, located in Devon, the ‘solar capital of the UK’, became operational in March 2017 and is accredited under the UK Government Renewable Obligation subsidy scheme.

Clydesdale Bank’s facilities provide the project with long term funding certainty and Solar Securites Ltd with capital to invest in developing several new projects throughout Europe.

Solar Securities Ltd was established in 2009 by Nick and Clive Richardson and has been involved in the development of around 200 hectares of solar farms in the UK, producing over 100MW of clean electricity.

Keith Wilson, Head of Renewable Energy at Clydesdale Bank said: “We are delighted to have provided a project finance facility to support Solar Securities Ltd in the re-financing of Ashwater. The team have been a pleasure to work with”.
