Tips for staying safe

Keeping your information secure and confidential is paramount

To protect our customers we have a number of measures in place:

  • Our mobile banking system is controlled by a comprehensive security structure, and includes the use of multiple firewalls and an intrusion detection system
  • Our servers use 128-bit SSL encryption, the maximum level of protection for your account information
  • To ensure our security system is up to date and fit for purpose, we had it vetted by external security consultants
Protect yourself

There are several steps you can take to protect your personal details

  • Putting a passcode on your device can give you extra protection
  • Log out of the mobile banking app if you're not using it
  • Don't write down your security information or store it in your device
  • Don't divulge any of your security information to anyone else, even if the request appears to come from us
  • Try to avoid sharing the device with which you carry out your mobile banking
  • Check your account records carefully
  • Use official stores when downloading our mobile app. It's only available from official stores such as Apple App Store and Google Play™
  • Keep your app updated to make sure your device is not open to risks
  • If your mobile device is compatible with anti-virus software, it’s a good idea to download one from a reputable brand
  • Remember, we will never ask you for your security information via SMS or email

You must tell us as soon as you can by calling 0800 678 1230 in the following circumstances:

  • Your security details become known (or you suspect they have become known) to someone else
  • You notice any errors or unauthorised transactions on your account
  • You think someone else has or may try to access your account
  • You become aware that your mobile device, or the computer that you sync your mobile device to has been lost, stolen or fraudulently accessed
