Overdraft terms

Daily Unarranged Overdraft Fee £6.00 per business day

This fee will be charged for each business day that you end the day in an unarranged overdraft by more than the £100.00 Unarranged Overdraft Buffer Amount (unless that position was created by us adding fees or interest).

Fee cap £100.00 per calendar month

We have a monthly fee cap of £100.00 per calendar month. This cap means that you’ll never pay more than £100.00 per calendar month in Daily Unarranged Overdraft and Refusing A Payment Due to Lack of Funds Fee. The cap does not apply to debit interest which is charged at the rate shown in the tariff.

Monthly Cap on Unarranged Overdraft Charges (also known as Monthly Maximum Charge)

We have a Monthly Cap on Unarranged Overdraft Charges. This means you'll never pay more than £100 per month in Daily Unarranged Overdraft and/or Refusing A Payment Due to Lack of Funds Fees.

1. Each current account will set a monthly maximum charge for:

  1. going overdrawn when you have not arranged an overdraft; or
  2. going over/past your arranged overdraft limit (if you have one).

 

2. This cap covers any:

  1. interest and fees for going over/past your arranged overdraft limit;
  2. fees for each payment your bank allows despite lack of funds; and
  3. fees for each payment your bank refuses due to lack of funds.

Refusing A Payment Due to Lack of Funds Fee:
Standing Orders, Direct Debits and cheques
This fee will be charged when there is not enough money in your account or arranged overdraft to make a payment and we refuse the request. We will not charge this fee if the value of the payment that is refused is £15.00 or less. This is the Refusing A Payment Due to Lack of Funds Fee Buffer Amount.

Debit card transactions in a foreign currency

Fee For Cash Withdrawl In Pounds Outside The UK
3.75% of transaction value. Min £1.50 These Fees apply if you use a card where the card transaction is made using an ATM, or is paid to a supplier based overseas, in any currency including sterling.

Where a Debit Card Payment In a Foreign Currency or Debit Card Payment In Pounds is refunded by a supplier based overseas, the purchase transaction amount will be credited back to the account based on the exchange rate on the day of the refund. The fee charged for the original transaction will not be refunded. For any reversals of Debit Card Payments In A Foreign Currency or Debit Card Payments In Pounds to a supplier outside the UK received, the original fee will be refunded.

Fee For Debit Card Payment (In both of the above cases, this fee only applies where the payment is to a supplier based outside the UK)

These Fees apply if you use a card where the card transaction is made using an ATM, or is paid to a supplier based overseas, in any currency including sterling.

Debit card payments in a foreign currency are limited to £10,000 per day for retail/private debit Mastercard contactless cards and £5,000 per day for all others.

Where a Debit Card Payment In A Foreign Currency or Debit Card Payment In Pounds is refunded by a supplier based overseas, the purchase transaction amount will be credited back to the account based on the exchange rate on the day of refund. The fee charged for the original transaction will not be refunded. For any reversals of Debit Card Payments In A Foreign Currency or Debit Card Payments In Pounds to a supplier outside the UK received, the original fee will be refunded.

Financial Care Team

If we need to involve our Financial Care Team you must pay us all reasonable costs and expenses. These could include any costs incurred by us on correspondence or in taking steps to trace you or recover money you owe us (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis).
