We’re proud of our charity partnership with Hospice UK. It's the leading, national charity for hospice care and supports more than 200 hospices across the country to provide the best possible end-of-life care to thousands of patients and their families.
Across the UK, hospices play an important role in providing vital end of life care and assistance. They help people both physically and emotionally and make sure that a patient’s family have the support they need too.
Hospices are charities, who support people in their local community. They rely on donations to keep providing much-needed care. It’s estimated that it costs £12,000 per day just to keep a hospice running, making hospice care one of the UK’s largest community fundraising causes.
It’s this local involvement that makes working with hospices and Hospice UK a perfect choice for Clydesdale Bank and our sister bank, Yorkshire. Together we’ve raised over £5.8 million for our charity partnership since 2008.
In addition to all the money our staff have raised for Hospice UK, they’ve also donated more than 40,000 volunteering hours to their local hospices too. This is vital as hospices rely heavily on support through volunteering and work with more than 125,000 volunteers to support the hospice care sector each year.
Hospices add life to days. For the bank it’s a privilege to give the support that we do so that hospices can help as many people as possible, when it matters most.
