Clydesdale Bank has joined forces with Virgin Money to become one bigger, better and brighter bank. Our existing products and services are getting a Virgin Money makeover and we’re working hard to get everything you need available on the Virgin Money website soon.
We hope to help you through the stages of dealing with the estate, following the loss of a loved one.
Dealing with finances following the loss of someone close to you can be overwhelming.
We want to do all we can to help you. That’s why we’ve put together this information to help you understand how we deal with the accounts we hold, how to manage the estate and help answer any immediate questions you have.
When notifying us regarding your loss we will ask you for the following information. To help us deal with everything as promptly as possible it would help if you have this information to hand, but don’t worry if you don’t have it all right away:
We will make copies of any documentation you provide to us and return the originals to you.
A Will provides details of the named beneficiaries and the executors who deal with the administration of the estate. If there is a Will, it is important that you provide this to us, so that we can confirm who the executors are.
If there is no Will then the estate is classed as ‘intestate’ and the law will determine who inherits the estate. To find out more please visit: www.gov.uk/ (link opens in a new tab).
