A leading care home provider will open a specialist dementia facility in West Sussex, with support from Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks.

Walberton Place Nursing Home

Prestige Care Group owns and operates elderly care homes with nearly 300 beds, with another 240 beds in the pipeline, within the North East and will add to its portfolio later this year with the opening of Walberton Place Nursing Home. The 80 rooms will have wet-room en-suites and there will be a number of communal lounges, dining rooms and treatment facilities. The ground floor rooms will also open out onto either a secure courtyard or a garden for residents to enjoy.

Raj Singh, owner of Prestige Care Group, said: “Walberton Place Nursing Home will add to the current care offering in the region and this state-of-the-art facility has been designed to offer the highest standard of care to its residents. In particular, we wanted to create a facility that would cater for the complex needs of people living with dementia and this care home is equipped to properly support our residents and provide the specialist care that is required.

“This is the second care home we have built recently with funding from Clydesdale/ and Yorkshire Banks, as we opened Sand Banks Care Centre, in Redcar, 18 months ago, which continues to go from strength to strength.”

The new care home will also provide new employment opportunities to the local area, with around 80 full and part time positions available, including nursing and caring roles, catering, maintenance, as well as activity co-ordinators.

Raj added: “We have been providing high-quality care for more than 20 years and an important part of our approach is becoming part of the local community. We look forward to building our team at Walberton Place and welcoming our residents when we open towards the end of 2018.”

Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks has provided Prestige Care Group with a seven-figure funding package to support the build of the new care home.

Gail Fielding, Director of Healthcare at Yorkshire Bank, said: “Prestige Care have a vast knowledge and wealth of experience when it comes to building care home facilities. And with our dedicated Healthcare team at Yorkshire Bank, who are committed to providing tailored advice and support to our customers, it’s great to be working together on these care home developments.

“We are committed to working with our customers to fulfil their growth strategies and Prestige is overcoming a challenging environment to provide state-of-the-art facilities for the local community of Walberton.”
