The stage is set for further success after Clydesdale Bank in Guildford celebrated its fifth birthday with a special ‘matchmaking’ event at Woking Theatre that brought together many of its customers.
The Members Network event was attended by nearly 100 of the Bank’s members – as Clydesdale’s customers are known – as well as representatives from many of the town’s leading professional firms.
The bank’s recently launched Members Network seeks to match its members to make productive new business connections across the country.
Kevin Bleakley, Partner at Clydesdale’s Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Guildford, said: “Our birthday event was an opportunity for us to introduce our members and colleagues in local professional practices to each other, which is at the heart of our philosophy to connect people.
“In the current climate we are increasingly using our knowledge of the local business community, matched with our banking expertise, to the benefit of our members – who also have access to services that go beyond our traditional approach to banking.”
The Guildford FSC, based at Walnut Tree Close, is one of more than 70 business branches across the country. Clydesdale Bank has adopted an approach to business banking which harks back to the days when the ‘trusted local bank manager’ was at the heart of the business community with everyone knowing them and vice versa.
Its ‘Back To The Future’ proposition has enabled Clydesdale Bank to successfully build local teams of consummate banking professionals who understand their Members and professional advisers and are able to make things happen.
Kevin Bleakley added: “It’s all about reinforcing our local commitment. The Members’ Network highlights what makes us different from other banks and we believe it will be well received by our Members, alongside our other added value services, such as free use of meeting rooms and conferencing facilities.”
