Prominent Scottish business figure Ken Lewandowski has been appointed as the new chairman of Clydesdale Bank’s Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Edinburgh. He replaces Peter Shakeshaft who completed a successful three-year tenure at the bank earlier this year.
Ken Lewandowski will work closely with Robert Gibson, the Managing Partner of the Edinburgh FSC – Robert leads a team of more than 70 partners and associates at the bank’s flagship office at Clydesdale Bank Plaza on Lothian Road.
As well as working with Robert in an advisory capacity and with the partners in areas of relationship banking and business development, Ken will also act as an ambassador for the bank.
Mr Lewandowski, who became chairman of the Glasgow FSC in 2007, was formerly chief executive of telecommunications infrastructure specialist Mono Global Limited. Ken has also held a number of senior positions with businesses in Scotland, England and the USA throughout his celebrated career in the technology and manufacturing sectors.
He said of his new role, “It will be a real privilege to work with Robert and his team in Edinburgh, to assist them in providing the local expertise and focus that Clydesdale Bank is renowned for.
“The Edinburgh FSC has an extremely close relationship with the capital’s business community, and I am looking forward to facilitating the growth of these local businesses and building on Clydesdale Bank’s reputation in the Edinburgh economy.”

Clydesdale Bank's appointment of local chairmen to its FSC network is unique in UK banking. The chairmen undertake a variety of roles from business development, to providing advice to clients and acting as business mentors to senior FSC staff.
Staff at the Financial Solutions Centre in Edinburgh cover corporate banking, acquisition finance, international trade, treasury and private banking.
