Bright future for BPC Circuits

06/07/2011

A Leicestershire manufacturer has a bright future having developed innovative environmentally friendly lighting products with the backing of Yorkshire Bank.

BPC Circuits Ltd, based on Gorse Hill Industrial Estate in Beaumont Leys in Leicester, manufacture and design printed boards for clients spread across the world for products ranging from digital jukeboxes and advertising display boards to top-of-the-range paintball guns.

The firm, which was established in 1993 and employs 65 people, has been working on the development of new LED lighting products which can last as long as 15 years before having to be changed.

The environmentally friendly lights use no gases and are set to be used in retail outlets, offices and hospitals across the UK.

The development comes hot on the heels of BPC Circuits launching its wind-up technnology products –  including radios and torches – which can reach distances of up to 100m and be powered for 30 minutes with just a minute of winding up.

BPC Circuits Managing Director Gurbakhash Sanghera said the firm, which is part of the multi-national BPC Circuits Group which had turnover of £10 million last year, valued the support of Yorkshire Bank’s Leicester Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in the development process.

“We market ourselves as a one-stop-shop for electronic components and a company with a green slant which is constantly striving to expand and create cutting edge products that are environmentally friendly,” he said.

“Our circuit board technology is among the most advanced available and the market for the new LED lights really is massive due to the green credentials the products have behind them.

“We’ve worked closely with various diverse end users and authorities who have endorsed the excellence of this product and we are confident that this sort of lighting technology will soon be commonplace across the globe.

“We’ve worked with Yorkshire Bank for around six years and they have been very supportive throughout this period to fund the purchase of new machinery at our headquarters in Leicester and provide us with working capital.”

Steve Evans, business banking partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Leicester FSC on New Walk, said BPC has a very bright future.

“BPC Circuits is always at the forefront of developing future-proof technology and Yorkshire Bank is delighted to be supporting its creation of innovatitive products,” he said.

“Its new LED lighting products can last for up to 50,000 hours without fading or being replaced and will soon be seen in buidings across the globe.”
