Yorkshire Bank’s newest recruit will be returning to familiar territory when networking in Birmingham’s business community.
Gareth Jones, who has been appointed senior partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Temple Row, is no stranger to the city.
The 42-year-old, who is a keen runner, worked for Barclays for 12 years after completing a degree at Cardiff Business School.
He worked in Birmingham, Dudley, Worcester and Coventry before joining the Bank of Scotland in 2002 where he oversaw the opening of the Coventry city centre branch before being promoted to area director and then leading various teams across the West and South Midlands.
Gareth will now be responsible for a team of seven business partners at Yorkshire Bank in Birmingham and he is looking forward to his new role.
“This is an opportunity to be part of a Birmingham integrated financial services team which provides a great local offering and full banking services all from one centre,” said the father-of-four who lives with his wife, Juliet, in Solihull.
“Having all our experts in one location is distinctive in the market place in terms of banking facilities for SMEs and owners and ensures our customers can speak to everyone they need for all areas of their business in one meeting.
“I think the set-up and the experience of the people who work at the FSC means Yorkshire Bank will continue to offer the kind of services which business professionals need to take advantage of growth opportunities.”
Stephen Cronin, managing partner at Yorkshire Bank in Birmingham, said Gareth would be a superb addition to the team.
“Gareth will be leading the commercial banking team and his knowledge and experience of the Midlands banking scene will prove pivotal in driving the team forward,” he said.
“Yorkshire Bank remains very much open for business and Gareth and his team are here to help new and existing customers make the most of their entrepreneurial abilities.”
