Northampton long-servers celebrate milestone

22/07/2011

Yorkshire Bank’s Katy Billings celebrated 25 years with the company on July 21– and it was a milestone for her boss too.

Katy, private partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Northampton Financial Solutions Centre on Waterside Way, started life with the bank on July 21, 1986 – six years to the day after managing partner Paul Reeves began his rise through the company.

The duo are among eight long servers at the bank’s Northampton FSC who between them will have amassed a combined 238 years working for Yorkshire Bank by the end of 2011.

They are joined by Paul Brooksbank (39 years) Pete Trueman (37 years), Gary Hill (28 years), Richard McManus (28 years), Andy Ashton (27 years) and Julie Sargent (23 years).

Katy said: “I love my job and I’ve always said I’d never work for a competitor as I really believe in the Yorkshire Bank ethos of integrated banking and making decisions for local businesses locally.

“A lot of us have worked together for a long time and really enjoy being part of a tight knit team and for me the best part about this job is seeing our clients grow their businesses over time with the support of the bank.”

Yorkshire Bank managing partner Paul Reeves joined the bank as an office junior at the age of 16 and was named National Managing Partner of the Year by Yorkshire and Clydesdale Banks in 2006.

He added: “We’ve got a tremendous team in place in Northampton which provides superb support to businesses across the area and it is a pleasure working with each and every one of them.”
