Yorkshire funded care home set for opening

30/08/2011

A new £3.7 million care home which is creating 40 jobs has opened in Sutton-in-Ashfield thanks to backing from Yorkshire Bank.

Bank House Care Homes has bought the three-storey property containing 53 en-suite bedrooms at Langton Road from the LNT Group.

The state-of-the-art home, which will be called Ashcroft, will provide care and nursing care for elderly people including those with dementia after the group received funding from Yorkshire Bank’s Financial Solutions Centre in Nottingham for its fourth home in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Kris Sooriah, director at Bank House Care Homes, said up to 40 new jobs had been created by the latest addition to its group.

“This is a luxurious home which continues our ethos of providing accommodation where older people are valued,” said Kris, who was previously a nurse at The Royal London Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and St George’s Hospital in London for 12 years.

“Ashcroft has taken nearly a year to build and we are delighted with the finished results.

“All the bedrooms are high spec with flat screen televisions, internet access and telephones to add to our communal rooms.

“Our other homes are smaller units and we have a reputation for providing top quality care.

“We thought the way forward was to buy a bigger home and strengthen our position as a local provider since we believe the new Ashcroft will provide the ultimate accommodation and luxurious environment for residents needing care in the town of Sutton-in-Ashfield.”

He added: “The backing from Yorkshire Bank has been fantastic and we are delighted the home is now officially open.”

Sue Carter, business partner at Yorkshire Bank’s FSC in Castle Meadow Road, Nottingham, said the care sector was a growing industry throughout the Midlands.

“Bank House Care Homes is putting its business plan into action of steady but sustained growth and it has gained a positive reputation in Sutton-in-Ashfield for the high standard of care it provides,” she said.

“The new home will provide elderly people with the highest standard of accommodation to ensure residents continue to make the most of life.”

Bank House Care Homes currently operates two other homes in Sutton-in-Ashfield – Bank House in Church Street and Bluebell Lodge in Ashfield Street – and Fernleaf in Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield.
