A specialist vending machine and wholesale supplier from Lancashire is looking to expand its business base and take on new staff after securing new banking facilities from Yorkshire Bank.
Formed in Blackpool in 1940, Duckworth’s is now in fourth generation ownership. The company supplies the licensed trade, business to business and the public sector with vending machines, wholesale products, cleaning products and machinery, paper disposables and cellar services including cask installation, line cleaning and soft drinks systems.
Duckworth’s has secured a £300,000 working capital facility from Yorkshire Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Preston. The new facility was arranged by Andy Nurse, Commercial Banking Relationship Manager.
Rod Duckworth, Managing Director at Duckworth’s said “This significant financial commitment will help us to extend our reach in a sector we have been established in for the last 30 years.
“By investing in new product lines we will be able to realise greater returns and achieve sustained economic growth.
“This would not have been possible without the support of Yorkshire Bank which has worked closely with our team to help us realise our ambitions.”
Duckworth’s has a well established reputation in the sale of vending machines and wholesale goods. The new facility will allow the company to begin a new product line in bean-to-cup coffee machines, hot nut machines and further expansion of the cleaning machinery and paper disposable business to the public and private sectors.
Mike Yates, Head of Wholesale, Retail and Franchising at Yorkshire Bank, said: “Duckworth’s is a company with a clear business plan, strong management and a resilient brand which is performing well despite being faced with a challenging economy.
“Yorkshire Bank is pleased to support the company and looks forward to continuing to develop our relationship in the coming years.”
