Clydesdale Bank PLC has announced the appointment of Adrian Grace as Non-Executive Director to the Board of Clydesdale Bank PLC. He has also joined the Board of National Australia Group Europe Limited.
Adrian Grace is Chief Executive Officer of Aegon UK PLC and a member of the Global Management Board for its parent company, Aegon NV. Prior to becoming CEO in 2011, he was its Chief Operating Officer having previously served as the Business Development Director.
Before joining Aegon, Adrian was the Managing Director of SME Banking with Lloyds TSB and Chief Executive Officer of Barclays Insurance Services. He has also held senior roles with Sage Group Inc and GE Capital.
An MBA graduate of Henley Management College, Adrian is a Non-Executive Director of the Association of British Insurers. He is also a former Non-Executive Director of Scottish Financial Enterprise.

Adrian’s appointment is the latest step in the further strengthening of the Boards over the past six months. This includes the appointment of Jim Pettigrew as Chairman in August 2014 after having served on the Board since September 2012. In October 2014, Dr Teresa Robson- Capps became a Non-Executive Director. Prior to that, Non-Executive Director David Allvey was appointed Chairman of the Boards’ Audit Committee and Debbie Crosbie was appointed as a new Executive Director. The Bank’s UK Executive Committee has also been strengthened in recent months with the appointment of Ian Smith as Chief Financial Officer and David Gillespie as Distribution Director.
