A charity golf tournament organised by Clydesdale Bank’s Perth and Dundee teams has raised £600 to support youth development at Auchterarder Golf Club.
Sixty enthusiastic golfers, including all staff based at the Bank’s Perth and Dundee Business and Private Banking Centres, customers, local professionals and business figures took part in the charity tournament, which was held at Auchterarder Golf Club.
The event raised £600, which has since been presented to the club and will be used to expand its youth development programme, including its popular coaching sessions for 8-13 year olds held on Monday evenings. The donation will also support the appointment of senior coaches to work with the club’s 14-18 year olds.
Michael Laidler, Senior Manager at Clydesdale Bank’s Dundee Business and Private Banking Centre, said: “We’re extremely proud of raising hundreds of pounds for youth coaching at Auchterarder Golf Club. The club has a strong track record in developing youngsters and helping them to improve their game.
“Clydesdale Bank is a firm believer in supporting the communities in which we work and live.”
Archie Dunn, Course Manager and Junior Convenor at Auchterarder Golf Club, said: “We’re very grateful to Clydesdale Bank for recognising and supporting the work we do here with young players.
“The money will be used to help young members to improve their skills and get a game. We now have youngsters competing in county teams so we’re doing everything we can to encourage them.”
The club’s youth coaching sessions recommence this week (w/c August 10).
