Mayor Meets Gloucester’s Emerging Professionals

30th March 2015

Gloucester’s talented emerging professionals had the opportunity to speak to senior Clydesdale Bank staff about financial planning and meet the Mayor of Gloucester, as part of the Bank’s Private Banking Week.

The event, held at the historic City Council Civic Suite in the North Warehouse, Gloucester Docks on Wednesday 25 March, attracted an audience of more than 40 guests. Considered the rising stars of the city’s professional market, the attendees were drawn from a range of industries including law, accountancy and real estate.

The session aimed to encourage guests to think about their financial plans and the options currently available to them. Additionally, it allowed ambitious professionals to connect with each other and build their network in an informal setting.

Kate Barrett and Carla Turner, Relationship Managers at Clydesdale Bank, delivered a presentation on the range of private banking services available to customers. This was followed by a speech from Deb Llewellyn, Mayor of Gloucester, on the history of her position and the community work she is involved in. Afterwards, the Mayor spoke to guests about their successes so far and aspirations for the future.

The Mayor commented: "It was wonderful to be able to share the story of Gloucester's civic history with so many young professionals from the county. The enthusiasm in the room was really inspiring and it was great to see so much local talent brought together for this event."

Rob Spearman, Head of Business and Private Banking in Gloucester, said: “We are extremely pleased with the success of this event which attracted more than 40 emerging professionals from a diverse range of industries. Hearing from the Mayor on her positive work in the local area was very inspiring for us and our guests.

"Most importantly, having the chance to speak directly to ambitious individuals who are making waves in the Gloucester business community, was a great opportunity for us to learn what we can do to help them reach their goals.

"Private Week creates an opportunity for existing and potential customers to come together to learn from each other and discuss the issues that affect them."

The event was hosted as part of Clydesdale Bank’s Private Week which was held from March 23-27, offering customers a variety of events at the Bank’s UK-wide network of Business and Private Banking Centres.

Clydesdale Bank’s private banking service offers the personal attention of a Relationship Manager. The service is available to people with individual yearly earnings of at least £75,000, joint incomes of £100,000, or investable assets of £100,000. There is a bespoke Private Banking package available to emerging professionals who do not yet meet the qualifying criteria.
