Bathgate-based Robbie Fluid Engineering is targeting growth after moving premises with support from Clydesdale Bank.
The family engineering firm has moved to a new purpose-built facility in Bathgate from their previous headquarters in Livingston.
As well as precision manufacturing and component maintenance, Robbie provides a 24/7 on call service to keep vehicles moving and factories running.
The new facility at Inchwood Park was designed specifically to allow space for the business to grow in size and diversify its offering. The interior includes a manufacturing floor with a mezzanine steel work-space, offices and showroom.
Clydesdale Bank provided a £60,000 overdraft facility for fitting out the new unit that includes a futuristic infrared tiled heating system. The deal was delivered by Johnny McVey, Relationship Manager at Clydesdale Bank.
The company currently employs nine full time staff, but is looking to increase that figure to 15 in the next two years. This year the firm will take on another apprentice, taking the total number of employees serving or having served their apprenticeships at Robbie to three.
Mark Robbie, Managing Director at Robbie Fluid Engineering, said: “Our new top of the range facility is not only ideal for our day-to-day business activities, but it also provides room to achieve our growth targets.
“We have a very skilled, young workforce with around half under 30, who are highly trained across a range of engineering disciplines. This broad understanding of different techniques means there is a lot of scope for moving into new sectors as the company grows and develops.
“The new building is not only an improvement in terms of its practicality for engineering, but improved facilities and conditions for staff have boosted morale and productivity.”
Adrian Innes, Head of Business Direct at Clydesdale Bank, said: “It’s great to see Robbie Fluid Engineering realising their growth ambitions.
“Clydesdale Bank is proud to provide funding support for businesses targeting growth. Robbie Fluid engineering is an excellent example of a successful business boosting the local economy.”
