Northern pub snacks company on the road to future growth

17 December 2015

Snack suppliers Mr Scratchings has upgraded its fleet of delivery vans after receiving significant funding from Yorkshire Bank.

The three new vehicles will replace some older models and increase delivery capacity with seven vans now on the road. The acquisition has also enabled the business to take on two additional full-time employees.

The deal was facilitated by Relationship Manager Alan Richardson from Yorkshire Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Bradford.

Mr Scratchings supplies snacks such as crisps, nuts and chocolate to the hospitality industry across the north ranging from Grimsby to Crewe and Kendal to Newcastle.

As well as distributing snack foods, the business also sells its own brand of pork snacks including scratchings, crunch and crackling.

Tim Banks, Owner and Managing Director of Mr Scratchings, said: “We are very grateful for Yorkshire Bank’s support to add the three vans to our fleet.

“The business is going through a period of growth and buying the new vans has helped us ensure that we can continue to expand.”

Andy Davidson, Head of Business and Private Banking at Yorkshire Bank’s Bradford Centre, said: “Yorkshire Bank is proud to support businesses targeting growth.

“Mr Scratchings is a popular and well-known supplier to the northern hospitality sector and we look forward to continuing to work with Tim and his team as they grow further.”
