A Carluke family business has added a second property to its portfolio, with support from Clydesdale Bank.
Gouldings Limited, owned by husband and wife George and Marie Goulding, purchased Flowers of Scotland Garden Centre in Carluke, which is located opposite their existing garden centre, Gouldings Garden Centre. The newly acquired garden centre will now trade as Valley View at Gouldings, bringing a vibrant family friendly coffee shop, gift shop and soft play facility to the local area.
The new centre, which includes a coffee shop and gift shop, has undergone a full refurbishment which included the installation of a new soft play facility. There are also future plans for outdoor children's activities.
Now open to the public, George Goulding hopes it will appeal to a wide market. He said: “The refurbishment and developments we have made bring something new to the local area by providing a great space for families to enjoy some time out together. The gift shop will also offer a range of toys, greeting cards and balloons and customers can enjoy our well-known light bites and home baking in the coffee shop – we want to cater for all ages and tastes.”
Award winning Gouldings Garden Centre is a key part of the local community and the business was keen to expand so the management team turned to Clydesdale Bank, who they have been with for four decades.
George added: "We are grateful for the continued support from Clydesdale Bank over the last 40 years. This has allowed us to create Valley View at Gouldings bringing a family focussed centre to the Clyde Valley area."
Karen Perriman, Commercial Relationship Manager at Clydesdale Bank, said: “At Clydesdale Bank, we are committed to supporting SMEs to grow and develop to reach their full potential. Gouldings Limited has built a strong reputation in the region with its award winning garden centre and Valley View at Gouldings is a great addition which complements the existing offer.”
