You can use your debit card anywhere you see the Mastercard® acceptance mark.
Your funds will be available immediately if transferring funds from another account you have with us via mobile, internet or telephone banking or by paying in cash over the counter in branch. If you are transferring funds from another financial institution this may not happen immediately, so please allow time for the funds to be processed into your account, prior to 3pm.
If making a future dated payment which falls on a non-business day i.e. weekend or bank holiday, please be aware that the payment will be processed on the next business day. It is important that you enter the correct destination details for any payment that you are making, otherwise the funds may be paid into the wrong account and it may not be possible to recover the funds from the unintended recipient.
If you ask us to make a payment via standing order, Direct Debit, cheque or future dated payments (including funds transfers and bill payments through internet banking), you must ensure that you have sufficient cleared funds in your account on the date on which the payment is due to be made or that the payment is covered by an overdraft facility you have with us.
You have until 3pm on the day a payment is due to pay in enough cleared funds to meet that payment. However, where future dated bill payments and funds transfers have been set up by telephone banking, you must have cleared funds available to meet those payments by 5am on the day they are due to be paid.
As a Clydesdale Bank customer you are able to receive and send Faster Payments into and from your account*. This allows much quicker telephone, internet and standing order payments between your account and other banks and building societies.

* Payments will only be processed through the Faster Payments Service if both the bank and/or building society sending and receiving the payment are participants of the scheme.
