Your personal loan is getting a Virgin Money makeover

All-new look, same loan. Nothing else is changing

We've joined forces with Virgin Money and the team has been busy behind the scenes to bring the brands together and create one brilliant bank under the Virgin Money name.

From August 2020, your personal loan will be rebranded to a Virgin Money personal loan. We're taking care of everything so you won't need to do a thing. You’ll still make payments as usual and manage your loan account as you do now.

Just remember

  • Your monthly repayments stay the same.
  • There's no change to the date you make your monthly payment.
  • The date your loan ends stays the same.
  • There's no change to the terms and conditions.
  • If you have a temporary payment holiday on your personal loan, this will remain in place.

Pay back more or repay early


You can pay additional amounts to your loan to save interest. Please remember that up to 58 days interest on the amount you repay will applyGo to footnote [1].

Change your payment details


You can change the account you pay your direct debit from, or your regular payment date using our online form. Simply provide us with a few basic details to help us locate your account, then we’ll make the changes requested. Change Direct Debit Details.

Our lending team can help you with any changes you’d like to make to your payment details. You can reach them through the customer service team on 0800 707 6471, Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 1pm.

Monitor and manage on the go


You can monitor your loan balance on the Clydesdale Bank mobile app, using internet banking, over the phone or by visiting your local branch.

We know that sometimes things can cost more than you thought they would — maybe your home improvements have gone over budget, or you’d like just a little more to spend on that special occasion.

Provided you’re sure you can meet the additional monthly repayments, you can apply to increase your loan in two ways:

A new, separate loan


If you choose this route, you’ll still have your existing loan, and a new, additional loan from Virgin Money — that means two separate repayments, which may be at different times. We’ll treat the loans individually, but remember, all the communications you get from us about either one will show the Virgin Money brand from now on.

A new loan


Your second option is to borrow enough to repay your existing loan, plus the additional amount you need. Remember, up to 58 days interest will apply on the amount you repayGo to footnote [1] on your existing loan, so you’ll need to factor that in. You’ll then have just one loan, with one repayment, from Virgin Money.

Now that we’ve joined forces with Virgin Money, we're no longer accepting applications for the Clydesdale Bank personal loan. But don't worry, if you already have a loan with us you'll still be able to manage it like you did before. You can also apply for a new personal loan with Virgin Money.

[1] You can repay your loan in full and in part at any time and we'll reduce the total charge for credit payable under the agreement. When calculating this reduction, we will charge up to an additional 58 days' interest on the amount you repay. You will need to contact our Customer Services team to inform us of your intention each time you wish to make an additional payment. Our team will be able to provide you with options on how to make this payment.
