In the event the UK leaves the EU without a transition arrangement in place, and in the absence of a specific agreement to the contrary, motorists will need to ensure they are carrying a physical Green Card (International Certificate of Motor Insurance) while driving in any EU country, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Serbia and Andorra to evidence that the policyholder has the minimum insurance requirements.
As this is a developing situation, RSA will be providing updated information on Brexit and driving abroad on their website (www.rsagroup.com/brexitfaq).
If you intend to drive in any EU country, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Serbia or Andorra on or around the 31 October, or any time after that, you will need to call 0800 197 1614 at least 3 weeks before your departure to make sure you get your Green Card on time.
